Paquette's Camp is located on Wagoon Lake, which is about 25 miles into the bush from the town of Chapleau Ontario. The have excellent fishing for Walleye. Actually, the whole reputation of the camp is well known for its great walleye fishing. The average size Walleye in their lake is 1.5 to 2 pounds. There are quite a few larger Walleye in the 5 to 10-pound range, which are caught and released throughout the summer. Their lake has various depths reaching all the way down to 50 feet in some places. Generally, you need some deeper water in a lake to produce the big 10-pound trophies.
Four Season Guiding Camp is a small and cozy family run outfitter on Big Pine Lake near Chapleau Ontario. Their personal service is just as good as their fantastic Walleye fishing. Cam's camp is the only camp on the lake and since it's such a small lake and too far away for local populations to bother with, you will feel you have the lake to yourself. Walleyes are available in great numbers as well as big trophy Walleye. They offer lakefront housekeeping cabins.
Five Mile Lake Lodge & Outpost Camps is located on Five Mile Lake which is south of Chapleau, Ontario. They offer excellent fishing for Walleye. They are rated as 4 Star (****) accommodations with housekeeping cabins at the base lodge and outpost cabins on Goldie Lake. Five Mile Lake itself is known for its good Walleye fishing. Goldie Lake Outpost is known for its Northern Pike Fishing. There are also Smallmouth Bass and Lake Trout in the lake.
Flame Lake Lodge offers excellent Northern Ontario fishing for Walleye. They also have trails and waterways to other lakes for the more adventurous, including several trophy Walleye Lakes, all in an untouched wilderness setting. Accommodations include housekeeping cabin or American Plan in the main lodge. They also have great fishing for Northern Pike and Whitefish. There are also many Brook Trout streams in the Chapleau area that you can drive to.
Chapleau Lodge is located on spring-fed Borden Lake, which has excellent fishing for Walleye. Walleye can be found in good numbers and good sizes. There are also other lakes and rivers in the area that you can exlore with excellent Walleye. Chapleau lodge offers American Plan accommodations with fabulous cuisine in their dining room. They also have new housekeeping cabins, which are very private and away from the lodge.
Murray Lake Cottages is located south of Missanabie and between Wawa and Chapleau, Ontario. They have outstanding Walleye fishing as Walleye are the dominant species in their lake. Not only can you catch trophies over 30 inches the numbers are there as well. Their guests enjoy catching 40 to 60 Walleyes per day on average and on really good days people have reported catching 100 Walleyes in a day. From Murray Lake you have boat access to McMurty Lake and Dog Lake for even more Walleye fishing opportunities. They also have boat caches on several remote backcountry portage lakes, which produce Walleye after Walleye. They have five lakefront housekeeping cabins that sleep between four and nine adults. They have two boat-to outpost camps on Loon Lake and Shikwamkwa Lake and both camps have fantastic Walleye and Northern Pike fishing. Their rates are the best in Ontario. They also have fishing for Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, Brook Trout and Perch.
Prairie Bee Outpost Camp is located on Prairie Bee Lake, which is located between Chapleau and Wawa, Ontario. They have great Walleye fishing. Guests can expect to catch between 20 and 40 Walleyes per day with really good days where you can catch well over 50 Walleyes. The Walleyes are most common in the 1 to 3 pound range but 10 pounders over 30 inches are available. At the far west end of the lake they have an extremely remote outpost camp. The main camp is located at the north-east end of the lake. Both camps are extremely remote boat-to camps. From the main camp you have access to Windermere Lake, which is one of the best Walleye lakes in Ontario.
Moose Horn Lodge has great Walleye fishing and they have the pictures to prove it. You can fish McLennan Lake for Walleyes, which is where the lodge is located or you can drive to many other area lakes, streams and the Chapleau River where there is exceptional Walleye fishing. They offer brand new American Plan and Housekeeping Cottages and a new main lodge. This is a really beautiful lodge and extremely comfortable for people of all ages. They also have fishing for Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass. Just a short distance from the lodge is a beautiful stream full of Brook Trout.
Happy Day Lodge is located on Windermere Lake, which is one of the best Walleye fishing lakes in the Chapleau area. Walleye fishing is excellent for both high numbers and trophy size. Walleyes are common in the two to five-pound range but there are plenty of trophies over tem pounds being caught and released. Actually, the Walleye fishing is so good at Happy Day Lodge that it is very hard to get a reservation because they are jam-packed with repeat guests. The lake is just swarming with Walleye. Happy Day Lodge is the only lodge on the lake. They have really nice lakeside cabins and boats and offer housekeeping accommodations.
